Kalocsai Porcelain Manufactory

Porcelain and folk art have played a key role in Kalocsa's past and present.

Since its foundation in 1971, the Kalocsa Porcelain Manufactory has been striving to combine the noblest traditions of the centuries-old, world-famous folk art of Kalocsa and its surroundings with the art of porcelain painting. Its products include around 200 different hand-painted items, including porcelain tableware and a wide variety of porcelain ornaments.

Visitors to the Kalocsa Porcelain Manufactory can follow every step of the porcelain-making process, from casting to kiln-firing. In addition to painting, we have been producing porcelain since 1996 and currently most of our porcelain products are made in our manufactory. We will show you the process of porcelain casting, porcelain cleaning, porcelain glazing and, if you feel like it, you can try how the liquid mass is turned into a graceful porcelain vase.
As you go on, the manufactory's experts will give you an insight into the art of porcelain painting, and you can experience how the colourful folk art motifs of Kalocsa come to life through the delicate brushstrokes of the painters.
At the end of the visit, you will be shown our kilns, then you can visit our showroom to see our product ranges and buy porcelain products at affordable prices.
The visit takes about 40-50 minutes. Guided tours are available in English, German, Italian and Hungarian.
